How to flash Clockwork Mod Touch Recovery 6 0 1 2 for Galaxy S3 I9300
For make this update, please notes this tutorial could only have applied on rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 device. When you will install this recovery, you’ll be able to use custom ROMs firmware.
For be able to guide you need quick pre requisites to follow:

- The instructions in this guide are intended for use with Galaxy S3 GT I9300 smartphone International version.
- Applying these instructions on another device or model may produce undesired outcomes.
- The information in this guide is provided for instructional and educational purposes only. There is no guarantee that these instructions will work under your specific and unique circumstances.
- Use these instructions at your own risk. We shall not hold any responsibility or liability for whatever happens to you or your device arising from your use of the info in this guide.
- Read and understand the whole guide first before actually performing the instructions.
- This custom recovery image is only for Galaxy S3 GT I9300 smartphone International version, and we will apply only for this model. If you apply on the network / boot loader locked devices.
For SMS-you can use SMS backup and restore tutorial;
For contacts, you can use Sync with your Gmail tutorial;
For Call Logs, use Download Call Logs Backup & Restore App For Android;
For all Images, Video, Files, Songs- Should Copy to internal/ External SD card;
For save your APN and MMS Settings -“Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names” or you can use this tutorial for save your internet settings.
- Check your battery on your phone and charge it at a minimum is not less than 40%.
- Go to access this path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, and there verify if you’ve enable the USB Debugging, if not enable it.
- Turn off all the antivirus protection and firewall tools, these can interrupt the proccess of firmware update.
- Check if your device is rooted or not, for make this, please download the “Root Checker” application from here.
- Verify again if you made all this prerequisites above mentioned and now you can forward the next instructions where we have detailed a guide on:
Guide to Install Custom Recovery Image in Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300:
- Download the Latest Clockwork Mod Touch Recovery 6.0.1.2 Image.
- Download Odin from here to your computer.
- Connect your phone on your computer with your original USB cable.
- Place this recovery file on your external SD Card, not in internal memory
- Now disconnect your phone from your computer and turn off the device, to enter in the Download Mode.
- To enter on Download mode, please holding the Volume Down button+ the Home Key button which it is in the middle. Note: If your phone starts in “Normal Mode” retry the process to enter in Download Mode.
- Open Odin app, from your computer, and connect your device on “Download Mode”. Now check if the ID: COM section in Odin becomes Blue that indicating drivers have been successfully installed.
- Click on “PDA” to select “CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar” file.
- Press “Start” after the file was selected to start the process of custom recovery installation.
The device will restart, and the home screen will be displayed on your device, now you can disconnect your phone to the computer.
Attention Note: If your Samsung Galaxy S III doesn’t turn ON(just in a rare case) or say gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Logo, in this case you need to long press the power button to power off the device, or re insert the battery to start the process from the begin.

Before Flashing the Rom you Need to Root your Device to Avoid Administrational Settings.

Partition your sd-card:
Simplest way is to use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" from http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html
This tool is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista & Windows 7
requirements: USB SD Card reader.
pull SD card from phone, insert into USB SD Card reader,you can do it with your usb cable mount Sd-crad. Windows should report new drive and content of the drive should be visible.
• step 1: Delete Old Partitions on SD card
[Note: this partition manager QUEUES the operations. So nothing is deleted and changed UNTIL you click "APPLY" and then confirm by clicking "OK".
WARNING! ]
Make sure you are Deleting Partition on SD card! (not your hard drive for example)
This step Deletes everything on SD card, so backup files first!
Dont be afraid, just read everything and think twice before selecting correct drive.
Do you see three gray icons on the bottom? Under each of them the capacity of each drive is listed, and SD CARD has slightly different icon.
Hard drives on the Lcdshot have 465.8GB and 74.5GB, and on the bottom, the SD card, with 3.8GB capacity.
• step 2: create FAT or FAT32 partition “ note that this partition is for storing your media, etc..”
select "Create As": PRIMARY
Select "File System:" FAT when you have 2GB or smaller card.
Select "File System:" FAT32 when you have 4GB or greater card.
• step 3: select the 2nd partition and select "Create As": PRIMARY
NOTE:
Stock roms with stock kernel will support fat32
Stock roms with custom kernels “ like CF-Root” may support both fat32/ext4 “check their threads”
Cm7/cm9 roms will support ext4
Here Is a NOTE:
For a wired reason, in both cm7/cm9 roms if formatted your 2nd partition with ext4 format, link2sd wont create mount script, unless you have selected ext3 “although the format was converted to ext4”
• step 4: finish
finally, click "apply" button on top left corner.
partitions will be created and card will be formatted.
Reattach your sd card to your phone and turn it on. (you can also do it With usb Connection )
Chose your Vertion Of Beta3 , Light or Ultimate copy it to sd-card
Reboot your phone to ClockWorkMod

go to settings , performance, processor, cpu governor select SmartassV2
dont forget to set on boot ^^
you can disable Surface Dithering
to have better Ui bar go to settings system notification drawler Widget buttons then select one more Toggle you can hide indicator too..

- Power off your Android device. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
- Now, put the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 in Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Home & Volume Down button together while pressing the Power button. A warning Lcd will come up; press Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.

- Turn the phone off.
- Press and hold VOLUME UP and Home(center) button
- Press Power until the phone vibrate
- Wait until you see the Android logo then release all the buttons.
- Select Wipe data/Factory reset with VOLUME DOWN, press Power (right hand-side)
- Select YES -- delete all user data with VOLUME DOWN and then press Power
- After format, press Power again to reboot phone. (select reboot system now)
If your device is frozen and unresponsive, press and hold for 8-10 seconds. The device will reboot automatically. If this does not solve the problem, perform a factory data reset. In Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings → Back up and reset→ Factory data reset → Reset device→ Delete all.

Use this method to hard reset your Samsung Galaxy S III: Enter *2767*3855#. Warning! All your data including contacts, messages etc. will be lost! Copy all your necessary data/Contacts/Messages etc. to SIM or make backup to your PC before full reset! Take out SIM card before full reset.
Note: If you reset your device to the factory defaults with SD card encryption setting enabled, the device will not be able to read your encrypted files. Disable this setting before resetting the device.
